DLT Guideline Update as on October 11, 2020

Every Content Template that is being registered by a Principal Entity should contain ‘Brand Name(s)’ (Complete business name/brand name/trademark) in the content field. That have been registered so far, should be updated with ‘Brand Name(s)’ by October 31, 2020.

For Enterprise registration, request you to first start registration with DLT Operator Registration Fees is Rs. 5900/- and get a unique Entity Id from the Operator (This might take around 72 working hours to get approved) which should be used with All DLT operators.

Why is DLT Registration Mandatory

Distributed Ledger Technology is a Blockchain-based registration system that keeps track of transaction records transact between network participants. The platform is being issued in the public interest to control SMS spam from different marketing companies.

DLT Registration is now mandated – Regulatory had released the DLT Registration process and accordingly we need to follow.

Regulatory authorities have released the DLT registration process which must now be followed by all messaging entities.

TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) introduced the Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations, 2018 (TCCCPR) on 19th July 2018.

This regulation aims to eliminate spam and create a transparent communication ecosystem.

Way2Smart is committed to full regulatory compliance and has implemented changes in line with TRAI’s vision.

The implementation involves use of Blockchain (DLT) technology to track and verify communications.

DLT has been rolled out by operators. Phase 1 of the regulation mandates registration of all Entities/Enterprises.

Way2Smart is already a registered Telemarketer. Now, you must register as a Principal Entity (Enterprise) to remain compliant.

What is the Process to Register on DLT platform

To register on the DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) platform, you must choose the correct registration type. There are two types of DLT registrations: Entity Registration and Telemarketer Registration. Please refer to the detailed descriptions below:

Type of DLT Registration
  • As Entity: A business, company, or legally recognized institution that wants to send SMS or voice communications to customers via a registered telemarketer.
  • As Telemarketer: SMS aggregators or resellers should select this option.

Please not while registering please select Way2Smart telemarketer which is available on DLT as Way2Smart Unique Registration ID 1202161987361022154

In case you have done already don registration with any other telemarketer on the operator platform then you just need to select Way2Smart Telemarketer ID 1202161987361022154

DLT Registration Process for Entity / Enterprise

Arrange following documents and details before proceeding for Telemarketer and Enterprise registration :

  • Select: As Enterprise.
  • Have you registered with any other Mobile Operator DLT Network? Select : No.
  • Enter your Business PAN Number.
  • Fill the form with all required details.
  • verify with OTP.
  • Verify Your Email.
  • Login To Portal.
  • Upload the required documents and fill out the remaining form fields:
  • After completion, you will receive your DLT Registration Number.
  • You will get your Enterprise Registration Id within 72hrs. of your KYC upload.

DLT Registatrion Process for Telemarketer:

  • Select: As Telemarketer.
  • Select: Aggregator Function.
  • When asked, select: No for "Have you registered with any other Mobile Operator DLT Network?"
  • Enter your Business PAN Number.
  • Fill the form with all required details.
  • Verify with OTP sent to your mobile number.
  • Verify your email address.
  • Login to the DLT portal.
  • Upload the required documents and complete the remaining form fields:

Arrange following documents and details before proceeding for Telemarketer and Enterprise registration :

  • Business PAN Number (Soft Copy)
  • GST Number (Certificate)
  • Business Establishment Certificate
  • Complete Business Address
